Many people with a drinking problem will deny it, the same as most people with any drug problem will deny that they have a problem too. I am not attempting to tell people they should never drink at all, it is legal, after all, as well as socially acceptable to do so, when an individual is able to control the amount of liquor they drink. That is wherhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gife the fine line can become a gaping hole the size of the Grand Canyon.
Besides the fact that drugs and alcohol impair a person’s judgment to say if he’s had too much, rarely do people want to own up to any kind of weakness that a dependency on drugs or alcohol would imply. There are many signals that can help a person see if they have an addiction:
1) Losing friends (except for the ones you drink with and even them sometimes)
2) Tired, weak or sick more than you used to be
3) Trouble with your job
4) Trouble in relationships
5) Gets more and more difficult to start the day
6) Feeling guilty or ashamed about your drinking
7) Lie to others or hide your drinking habits
8) Have friends or family who are worried about your drinking
9) Need to drink in order to feel relaxed or feel better
10) “Black out” or forget what you did while you were drinking
11) Many times drink more than you intended to.
This is just a partial list. It could go on and on. The reasons why a person develops a dependency are also endless and not really the subject of this article. That is something that can be handled as part of their rehab. We are looking at why and how a person will deny a problem and what their friends or family can do to help them.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
If the alcoholic himself is reading this then you are already a leg up because you are at least beginning to look for help. If you are a family member or friend of a suspected alcoholic (or any drug abuser, for that matter) show him the list from earlier in this article. If they have a majority of those problems then it is a good bet that they have a problem. You have a very good chance of getting them to face up to that fact and do something about it.

There is a Cure for Drug and Alcohol Addiction
Many so-called “experts” in the psychiatric industry, and I do mean to imply industry, will try to tell a drug addict or his family that he will always be a drug addict and all he can do is try to contain himself. And, naturally, the way to contain him is through the use of a variety of psychiatric drugs. This is merely a legal, albeit, unethical means of pushing drugs, no better than the drug pusher out on the street, probably much worse, in truth, because he is doing it under the guise of help.
http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
It is very doable to actually cure the drug addict. It is not a disease, it is a condition brought on by the person himself. No matter the variety of reasons a person becomes addicted, the truth is that he created his own addiction and to refer to it as a disease is a lie.
Drug addiction is cured, initially, by getting the addict off of the drugs, then by doing a comprehensive detox so that the drug toxins are no longer stored in the fat cells of the body so that they can , on a continual basis, be effecting him, and last of all, educating him in a manner that will keep him from falling back into the trap of being addicted to drugs ever again.
The last thing anybody should ever do is let someone get you off one drug by administering another drug. This is just trading one addiction for another and is sentencing the person to a life as an addict. Methadone for heroin is the perfect example of this, but not the only one by any stretch of the imagination. The psychiatrist plus many medical doctors, as well, will put an addict onto psychiatric drugs to “calm” the person. In reality, they are numbing the addict even more and that is why they say an addict cannot be cured. By using their methods you never would cure anyone so in that line of reasoning they are correct.
There have been quite a few people who have called this web site for help with a methadone addiction so I am saying this from experience not from hearsay.
The cure for any drug or alcohol addiction is very possible through the drug rehab program recommended on this site. They have a program that has been arhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifound for over forty years and has the highest success rate in the world for curing people of drug or alcohol addictions.

Why a Drug Addict Keeps Using Drugs
When someone is addicted to drugs he may really want to quit but he can't for a variety of reasons. The fact is, he is in most cases frantic to quit but he can not because he is both physically and emotionally addicted. This is puzzling to family and friends around the drug addict since they see the drugs destroying his life yet he continues to take them.
The drug addiction is a thing that occurs over time and there are degrees of this. Sometimes the person is only able tohttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif get, or accept help when he has truly hit bottom and there is no lower to go. Very often, to others, he has appearhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifed to hit bottom many times and yet continues to sink lower. Sometimes death is the bottom. The fortunate drug addict, if there is such a thing, is the one that will accept help in time before death occurs.
The way he or she got addicted initially was that they used the drug to kill some type of pain: physical, emotional or mental. When the drug wears off the pain returns even stronger. The person believes he needs more drugs to kill the pain. The more he uses the more he wants until finally he does not want the drug he needs it to eradicate the pain created by the drug.
At this stage the addict usually realizes they have a problem, although they still may not admit it to others, but they don’t sense they can do something about it. Drugs impact the body’s natural metabolism by destroying nutrients at unusually high speed. When a body lacks these nutrients, a person experiences destructive symptoms. Regular drug use goes on to create deficiencies and imbalances.
As the person proceeds to take the drugs, he needs them to do away with the unwanted conditions in his body, he believes. To handle those conditions he will take more drugs. Now he is addicted. If he doesn’t get help he will continue to get even worse. He may go through times where he slows down the addiction but then something similar to what got him started occurs again, physically or emotionally and he drops back to his stable datum of the drug.
If a drug addict is actually going to get his life back he ought to get into an effective drug rehab. Nine times out of ten that is the sole solution. Otherwise they are being condemned to a life of misery with a significantly shortened life span or a very painful, greatly hastened death.

Drug Addiction May Require Drug Rehab
Illicit drug use was not that common before the early 1960s. Prescription drugs were also far less popular then too, as psychiatry had not yet “invented“ all of the mental maladies that they have managed to come up with over the last few decades. Now an estimated 185 million people internationally consume drugs. It is a worldwide epidemic.
In the United States, results from the 2003 National Survey on Drug Use and Health revealed that 19.5 million Americans (or 8.2% of the population aged 12 or older) were illicit drug users during the month previous to the survey. It has increased significantly since then as has the use of prescribed drugs, many times over prescribed drugs.
Alcohol is the most commonly abused drug in the United States. Yes, alcohol is absolutely a drug. If you take an excessive amount of it, it can kill you just as any other drug, even over-the-counter drugs, such as aspirin, are poisonous at high enough dosages. The reports of alcohol abuse destroying families from top to bottom are legend, not to mention all the lives lost through alcohol related car accidents.
Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit drug on earth. Long term use can increase the chances of tissue damage and lung cancer and also causes changes in the brain similar to those caused by heroin and cocaine.
Several studies have associated marijuana with poor school performance. Ithttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif is harder to concentrate and retain information when someone has been smoking marijuana. Sixty percent of teenagers in drug rehab facilities are there because of marijuana. Smoking marijuana can lead to the use of other stronger drugs, but, make no mistake, continued marijuana use, all by itself, is dangerous.
Internationally, amphetamine and ecstacy, drugs associated with the “rave” or dance scene, are commonly used. Methamphetamine, “crystal meth,” heroin and cocaine are frequently abused drugs.
In 2008 an estimated 4.5 million Americans were using cocaine. Hallucinogenics were used by an estimated 1.3 million Americans and heroin by an estimated 119,000 Americans in the month prior to the survey done. Even over-the-counter or pharmaceutical pain pills (such as OxyContin and Ritalin) may be, and havehttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif been, commonly abused.
Don’t get caught into the trap of drug or alcohol abuse. But if you, or anyone you are close to, does succumb to addiction do not be reluctant to use a good drug rehab facility to get you whole again and start your life anew.

Drug Abuse and Alcohol Addiction are the Same
Many people wonder if alcohol is really classified as a drug. It most definitely is a drug. In fact, alcohol is accountable for more drug related deaths than all other drugs combined. It is also one of the most common drugs that cause people to need drug rehab.
Alcohol is absorbed directly into the bloodstream and is a factor in a number of life-threatening diseases. Alcohol depresses the central nervous system, lowers inhibitions and impairs judgment. Drinking large enough amounts of alcohohttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifl can and has many times resulted in coma and even death.
Mixing alcohol with prescription drugs or illegal drugs is particularly dangerous and can lead to accidental death.
Alcohol affects the brain. It leads to loss of coordination and balance, poor judgment, slows reflexes, distorts vision, memory lapses and blackouts.
I was shocked in talking to a person the other day, who is very much anti-drug, who told me the reason he liked alcohol was because it made him more able to do things that he could not do normally. That was simply because his perceptions were distorted and tricking him into believing he was more able to do things while high on alcohol. As a matter of fact, I had seen him drunk on alcohol merely a few months ago and he was acting like a total idiot, could not walk in a straight line and to boot he threw up several times. Still, he thinks it helps him do things he is unable to do regularly. That is actually true, but sadly, none of them are good.
Teen bodies are still developing and alcohol has a greater influence on their physical and mental well-being.
The effect of combining different drugs can be very unpredictable. Mixing alcohol with other drugs can greatly increase the effects of all the drugs taken. Combining alcohol with other depressant drugs can be potentially fatal to the central nervous system, flooded by depressants, may suppress brain and heart activity.
People who regularly drink heavily may become dependent on alcohol. When a physically dependent person suddenly stops drinking they can experience serious withdrawal symptoms as their body readjusts to functioning without alcohol. The addiction to the alcohol coupled with the severe nutritional deficiencieshttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif created by the alcohol can make withdrawal very difficult and painful.
At this point an effective drug rehab program may be the best friend of a person with alcohol addiction. Effectiveness with a proven track record are the keys to creating a new drug free life.

Teen Drinking May Result in Drug Abuse
Forty percent of those who began drinking at age 13 or younger developed alcohol dependence later in life. Ten percent of teens who began drinking after the age of 17 developed dependence. Teens that drink are 50 times more likely to use cocaine than teens who never consume alcohol. Alcohol kills 6 ½ times more young adults than all other illicit drugs together.
Those are some statistics that should get the attention of parents who do not think it is a big deal when there teenager drinks alcohol. Surprisingly, many people, adults included, do not even think that alcohol is a drug. Seemingly, the fact that it is legal and, therefore, much more socially acceptable leads them to this erroneous assumption.
The reality is that just as any other drug, alcohol is a poison and if you drink too much of it in too quick of a time it will kill you. There are also, obviously, ramifications that are less serious than death such as a hangover. This phenomenon is what takes place when a person drinks too much alcohol . It burns off the supply of vitamins in one’s body, particularly B vitamins, and the resultant shortage is extreme tiredness, sluggishness, a ill feeling and quite often a bad headache. When a person does this too many times they will begin to develop a dependency on alcohol, both physically and psychologically.
A person can also get to the point where if he drinks often enough and regularly he will burn off so much of the body’s store of vitamins that he will develop what is called DTs or delirium tremens. The symptoms are severe, shakes and hallucinations. When you get to that point death is not far behind.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
Certainly, burning off your body’s vitamins is only one of the results of alcohol abuse. It affects every major organ in the body, including your brain.
Regardless of how one may justify it drug abuse and alcohol addiction are very critical matters, one that will affect a person’s life negatively in many ways. The further travesty is that it affects those around them almost as much. The alcohol abuser is not only a liability to himself http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifbut also to all those around him.
Alcohol addiction can be taken care of and generally drug rehab is the answer. But in choosing a rehab program make sure it is one that has a good track record for effectiveness. Not all programs are created equal.

Drug Addiction Can Be Cured
Many individuals will tell you that there is no “cure” for drug or alcohol addiction. That is a brazen lie that is carried on by the psychiatric industry because they don’t have the know-how to cure. They want to drug you to mask the symptoms and tell you there is no cure so that you can be a continual patient until you die, which you are most likely to do much sooner if you follow their advice.
To define a cure for these addictions you could refer to it as complete and permanent absence from the need, want or compulsion to take drugs or alcohohttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifl (drugs and alcohol are really in the same category so for the rest of the article I will simply refer to them as drugs.)
Many people most likely don’t think that that definition of a cure is conceivable since they’ve probably attempted so many solutions that did not work that they believe that to be true. Of course if what they have tried are psychiatric “solutions” I would have to agree there are no cures. The fact is that drug abuse is not a disease, it is a situation that you have gotten yourself into and genuine cures do exist.
Drug abuse is not something genetic, or a brain disease or a chemical imbalance in the brain. A lot of addicts in rehab are trained to think that they are mhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifanaging their addiction, or recovering (forever) but never, ever cured. They are taught it is something they are going to have to learn to live with.
The reality is, the hope of a cure for drug addiction is not lost but hidden under a pile of tremendous mis-information, lies, false information and false solutions. The truth is psychiatry not only contributed significantly to the start of the drug culture of the 60’s, which has increased tremendously since then, but they actually marketed to tens of thousands of college students the notion of improving life through “recreational,” mind altering drugs. They endorsed LSD as not only acceptable but an adventure.
The failure of the war on drugs is primarily due to the failure to prevent one of the most dangerous drug pushers of all time, the psychiatrist. They have infiltrated schools (does your child’s school have a psychologist or psychiatrist as a counselor for the students?) and they are now trying to transform babies into addicts.
Clearing away psychiatry’s false information about drugs and addiction is not merely a fundamental part of restoring hope, it is the first step towards achieving real drug rehabilitation.
To reiterate the title of this article, there is a cure for drug addiction!
