Drug Addiction Is Not Always from Hard Partying

Drug addiction can begin by very simple means. It is not just people who party excessively and then it grows to addiction. That is usually the concept when people hear of someone who winds up going to drug rehab. Sometimes it is other causes that lead to addiction.

Sometimes people take drugs because they have a dietary deficiency. They don’t take them to resolve the deficiency but instead to solve the symptoms of the deficiency. The drugs might be seen as a remedy to not feeling well, feeling http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifsluggishhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif or having pains caused by dietary deficiencies. Using drugs will only increasingly worsen those deficiencies. The drug may initially cause a change in the way the person feels since they will experience some sort of high. But, as the drug use goes on the deficiency gets worse and the old symptoms that caused them to take the drugs to start with become more apparent again. Not only that but it takes increasingly more of the drug to generate any sort of high that initially kept the bad feelings at bay. The problems heighten and a full blown drug addiction has begun.

Drugs burn off the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients in the body. When the drug wears off, the problems created by the deficiency (aches, pains, depression etc.) intensify. The person’s solution is, naturally, more drugs, which generates greater deficiencies.

Very often when people say they are depressed it can be attributed to a vitamin or mineral deficiency. An increasing number of doctors and health care professionals are becoming aware of this, but sadly, many of them still cling to the idea of drugs as a solution. So sometimes the doctor is partly responsible for causing the drug addiction.

Recovery from drugs demands a full repair of those deficiencies, as drug use may very well have caused the deficiencies and intensified existing ones.

When a drug addict goes to rehab a thorough nutritional program in conjunction with vital supplements is essential to a full recovery. The body has become too worn down to recover in a matter of months without the use of a substantial and carefully monitored supplement program. These would enhance a detox of the drugs which any successful drug rehab should also include.

Drug addiction is a problem that can be cured but you need to also handle what caused the person to get onto the drugs in the first place, whether that is nutritional deficiencies, hard partying ways or whatever the cause.
